My son claims he is an atheist. My son also spoke of his anger toward GOD. He would ask questions and make statements revealing his anger. His statement would start with something like, "How could GOD etc etc."
I remember sometimes I could not answer his questions specifically because I did know always know the answers. The answers to my son's questions were of course in the bible in general terms and more specific terms depending on the question.
I know now my son wanted me to defend GOD. The creator/saviour of the universe needs no defense. I also think my son new this. If I began to talk about the bible he would cut me off and say he did not want to hear anything GOD says in the bible. My son's anger toward GOD has lead him to his atheism and given him a reason to cling to his disbelief.
My son had a "negative life event". He was hit by a woman trying to pass on a small hill with a double yellow line. The woman did not want to wait for the 4 cars in front of her to move before she turned left so she crossed the double yellow line in the passing lane trying to go around them. In doing so she hit my son coming down the road on the two lane highway head on. My son had neck, arm and back pain for several weeks but no major trama. The lady that he hit was spun around several times and ended up in a field. She was not hurt but said to the medic that her teeth hurt.
My son, 27, was fortunate to be alive after this accident an I am sure he blamed GOD for the accident. I told him that I thought it was a warning or wake up call about the way he was living. As time went on he became more bitter and agitated toward God even to the point of ripping a couple of frames off my walls that had bible verses. After he cooled down the next day I made him go out to the road and pick up what was left minus the frames. I have since put the bible verses in new frames and hung them back on the wall.
I pray every day for my son and ask GOD to have mercy on him and convict his heart of his sin. I know GOD is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that I ask or think regarding his salvation. Because of this I have hope my son will become a new creature in Christ Jesus.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Angry atheists take it out on GOD
One of the most contradictory and perplexing facts about atheists is how many of them express anger at GOD.
Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland Ohio) psychologist Julie Exline has published findings of long term research which reveal that those who endorsed their religious beliefs as "atheist/agnostic" or "none/unsure" reported more anger toward GOD than those who reported a religious affiliation. A "negative life event" was often the catalyst for the anger.
In the atheist's naturalistic worldview, thoughts and reasoning are just illusions caused by chemical reactions in the brain.
So anger, whether at GOD or anything else, is just another illusion of brain chemistry. And being angry at an entity one claims to believe is non-existent is of course difficult to justify rationally.

“And the Books Were Opened”
“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened... and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works... And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” —Revelation 20:11,12,15
God has a set of Books in which everything we say and do are recorded. In one Book, called the Book of Life, are recorded the names of every born-again believer. The Bible says anyone whose name is not found in the Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire to be tormented forever. In other Books are recorded every sin which we've committed and also the good we've done. It is important to realize that no matter how much one's good works outweigh the bad, they will still be cast into the lake of Fire if their name isn't found written in the Lamb's Book of Life. This is why Jesus sternly warned in John 3:3, “Ye must be born again.”
God will allow you to ignore or deny him until your death and then the judgement.
You can live your life as if there is no God. You can deny God exists.
Don't make yourself your own "god" in this life.
Luke 16:19-31
16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
16:27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
16:29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
The rich man who ignored God is still in hell wanting a drop of water.
It is too late for him to ask anything of God.
He waited to late to seek God.
The moment he died he was in hell for ALL ETERNITY with no hope of repenting and seeking God's mercy.
He did seek God's mercy for his loved ones through Abraham but Abraham told him that NEITHER would they believe what the bible says about Jesus rising from the dead.
His family did not listen to what God told them through Moses and the prophets as he didn't.
Its was forever to late for him to be saved from the rath of God because of his sin.
Its not to late for you as long as you are alive to accept Jesus as your saviour.
Don't ignore God as the rich man did for if you do it will be forever to late to be saved.
Romans 10:9,10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
